(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Digital copies of the Holy Quran in sign language are distributed in Jordan’s Rasifa Province as of today, April 14.
The distribution will begin at 2 pm on Saturday, in a ceremony to be held at Al-Isala Hall, the office of Jordan’s Quran Protection Society announced, according to a report carried by As-Sabil daily.
Aiman Raba director of the province’s development office will officiate the ceremony.
The copies, that are designed for the hearing-impaired, feature Quranic verses in sign language as well as pictures related to the content of the verses.
They are given to the hearing-impaired in CD format.
Sign language is a language which, instead of acoustically conveyed sound patterns, uses hand shapes, orientation and movement of the hands, arms or body, and facial expressions to convey meaning.
